Microsoft's "Cloud OS" CNET news dot com's Ina Fried reports today that Microsoft "is in the early stages of a plan that will see virtually its entire lineup of underlying Internet services opened up to developers." In an initiative that's being called "Cloud OS" or Cloud-centric, Microsoft intends to open up to developers much of the technology that powers Windows Live. Its intention is to play the same role online as it has off, and that is to be a provider of its own software and services as well as the tools and infrastructure needed by developers to build their own products. Some parts of the platform are already available in beta, and Microsoft is offering up some applications to partners, while at the same time working on overcoming many of the hurdles inherent with a project of this size and nature. Train The Trainer There are still a few seats left for Molly Holzschlag's new Train the Trainer Program. Holzschlag, a web standards evangelist in her own right has put together the two day program in an effort to teach others what she knows of HTML, CSS and project management. An author of over thirty books, her aim is to actively share her knowledge through this program with people who can demonstrate to her that they will then go on to do the same. She will train up to six people at a time free of charge. Holzschlag has stated that her aim is to do this for an entire year. Seating is still available for weekends in September and October of 2007. Gears Roadmap and Development Process Ajaxian dot com is reporting on a post to the Google Developer blog by Othman Laraki who is the Product Manager for Google Gears. Three Critical Updates for Flash CNET News dot com is reporting that Adobe Systems has issued three critical bug fixes for their Flash player. According to the Adobe advisory, affected versions of the player suffer from issues such as input validation errors and insufficient HTTP referer validation problems.  These issues can lead to the potential execution of arbitrary code as well as cross-site forgery attacks. Adobe recommends that Windows, Mac and Solaris users upgrade to version 9 0 47 0 and that Linux users upgrade to version 9 0 48 0. Outtro ... OUTTRO MUSIC FADE IN ...
